September 2013

Forrest joked in an email that I am hogging the press and then added this…

“These writers are teaching me things about myself that I didn’t even want to know. I’m so famous I can’t afford my own autograph. ff”

  1. Fenn said it himself, he got what he thinks he wants to be FAMOUS,,or more like well known..Like Thomas Penfield-writing books called “A Guide to Treasure” in -whatever state he happens to like. That’s How Fenn will be remembered, wrting expensive fancy books on how to find his hidden treasure..

Mr Fenn “You must like yourself so others can see what you see in yourself.”.and perhaps they can be as happy as you think you are!

  2. Speaking of affording your autograph, I, like so many, have preordered your book but will not be able to make it to your book signing. Just too far to drive. lol Is there anyway people could pay you a certain amount of money, say maybe $25 or $50 (for your trouble) to personalize an autograph in our books before they are mailed out? There are so many of us (your fans) out here that will NEVER be able to come to your signings but would so cherish a personalized autographed copy, I know I would pay extra for it for your trouble and time… Help us out with this Forrest…. We beg you! At $40 it is still about $750 – $1000 cheaper than booking a flight, taking two days off of work, renting a car, getting a room, etc. Would you consider that option? If so pull my book from the ship list and bill me! (You should hold all orders until each buyer has had the chance to purchase the upgraded, personalized autographed edition!) PRETTY PLEASE…

    • OK. Enough with the fluffy crap, that was probably over the top but there’s no way I, like most of f’s fans, can afford to be at his book signing so what are we to do? To ask him to go out of his way to stop the shipment, have books sent to his residence, take the time to sign it, drive it to the post office and finally remail it to me, is asking quite a bit and would prove to be a hassle for sure. I am willing to pay extra for that in order to have a special book in my collection. It is worth it to me. If the option would become available, it would be just that…an option. Probably won’t happen anyway. (f, could you please sign mine anyway?) Thanks!

      • Captain-
You can get your book signed. Just order before Saturday, September 21st and it will happen. Forrest has agreed to do this. I already mentioned this in a comment on the post about the new book…

and I also wrote you an email telling you personally that this could happen…
I don’t see what more I can do to let you know that a signed book won’t cost you anything extra…just order one before Saturday and Forrest will sign it for you..

        • SAWEEEET! DAL, YOU ROCK! I PREORDERED BACK IN AUGUST SO I SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO! I TOTALLY MISSED THAT EARLIER COMMENT IN YOUR BLOG. THANKS FOR HELPING ME THROUGH THAT! ORDER UP EVERYONE IF YOU WANT AN AUTOGRAPHED COPY! THANKS AGAIN DAL!

  3. Remember when the treasure was only worth $800,000 or so? How is it now justifiably $3million? Should I go ahead and ‘call it’…, that the press this winter will be describing it as a “$4million” treasure? $5Million?
    =)
or is Forrest just sneaking off to Montana/Wyoming when no one’s looking and adding things to the chest?
    =)

      Look at Scrapbook Forty Two..
There is a link to a new story by Margie…
She now claims the treasure is worth $5million and that Forrest is a bazillionaire…

  4. A national radio network is doing a story on Forrest and would like to interview a searcher in Santa Fe when they are down there visiting with Forrest. If anyone from the Santa Fe area would like to be on a radio story with Forrest in the next couple of weeks, please let me know and I will pass your email on to the show’s producer. My email is on the right side of this page right above my picture..

  5. I hope Forrest knows what an amazing thing he has done. As soon as by bank account says ok, I’m going to find copies of all of his books for my grandchildren (3 so far). I’ll probably put a letter in each one, describing my journey. My wish is that in a thousand years or so when someone finds one of his bells, we all get to watch.
