what i get for bein bad.

    • Hi, Hunch. With you looking at a house in Florida and your wife looking at igloos it almost sounds like the intro to Green Acres…in a way…

“Darlin’ I love you, but give me an iggieloo”. LOL!

Sounds fun. Good luck with that. 🙂

  14. During the Christmas season, reflect upon these Three who were Wise and followed a blaze – to the greatest Treasure of all: ” When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” (Matthew 2:10-11 (NKJV))

    • Greetings, Philosopher. Those Three knew a Treasure when they saw one…the Greatest Eternal Treasure that One could give: “For God so Loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:16-17 KJV)

Great Treasures are given with Love.

      The Greatest Treasure IS Love.

    • Excuse while I slap my face for not seeing the obvious biblical connection after all these years. (SLAP!)
Yes, the three magi from the east were wise and saw the blaze. They followed it and looked quickly down, their quest to cease.

      • Hello, Michael. Maybe there’s something there. There doesn’t have to be a Biblical connection…I reckon. Personally, I see a similarity with the line from the poem that tells us to “go in peace” and the kind example of the Prince of Peace to “love one another”.

Maybe there’s an answer there somewhere.

        • JC1117, Michael H, yours are
very interesting connections from a spiritual or Biblical viewpoint. A few others…all for fun…I found in the poem *not likely relevant – just IMO*

All ones; 111; Trinity; halT at the “T” cross; “ stake the chest” or heart – Christ was pierced for our transgressions; the words “Trinity” and “Adonei” can be mined from the poem.

Double p,p’s in books could be Peggy Proctor; private property; 16+16=32 or Prince of Peace = go in love, go into heart…which resembles uu, w,rainbows; B=1 3 equal to Christ Jesus in Spanish treasure as the 12 protected 13; Christ Jesus blazed the trail for all humanity to bridge death’s canyon (no place for the meek) on a cross of brown – in the wood.

Remember Forrest’s viginette with wooden sculpted Moses – his arms in a Y shape and f’s tin can art; I mar V el’d as I found exact replica “big pictures” in nature. Tin can makes several appearances in the poem. All fun, but alas Wrong in again. In the “end” my imagination was the butt of not 4 but 242 many jokes and I found myself playing hangman with Marvin and Skippy on Main Street. I must not be listening with big enough ears – maybe bugs bunny can lend me his. 😉 lol my imagination runs wild; but dreams are what keep you going some days.

      • Biblical connection:

Just take the chest and go in peace.

        Luke 7:50
Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

From there it’s no place for the meek.

        Mathew 5:5
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

        Mark 14:34
And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.

        Tarry scant with marvel gaze.
(IMO he marked the spot with something small)

        Mathew 13:44
The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.

There are so many connections to consider in the bible alone not to mention all the other tie ins. Currently at this point in time my brain is circling the drain, it’s barely there anymore.

  15. Nice photo, looks a little like my house when it snows, we are in the Redwoods and heat with wood….we’ve been accused of living in ‘banjo country’…. out in the sticks..

  16. 65 degrees in Boston, Ma., Christmas Day. The Merriest to All. Husband suffered a heart attack and renal failure due to diabetes. 2016 The New Begining….

  20. Hey Dal,

Since this isn’t signed, is it from you, Forrest or someone else. I also wish all a Happy Holidays. Be safe, study hard, hit the trails in the spring!

  21. Yes, yes, Happy New Year to EVERYONE. Dal, problem. Did Forest ever say that be was at his home when he snuck out and hid the T.C.?? If not do you have the spot that Forest left to hide the T.C.?ANYONE SERCHING CAN ANSWER. I’m working on something and have no more hair to pull out. Also, keep Lois and her husband in your thoughts as we all enter 2016 and if partying be safe.

    • Tim-
We don’t know where Forrest started out from the day he hid the chest. We don’t know how long he was gone. We don’t know if he was driving his very own vehicle or a rental or if he stole one. Forrest has steadfastly refused to answer questions related to those topics and many other topics using the excuse that he does not want to give the answers out as a clue…Implying that we would be able to draw some conclusion about where the chest could be hidden if we had the answers to those questions.

  22. Happy New Year!!! Jimo is home and loving his couch. He says, “it feels good”. He’s all propped up with his blankie, with a much deserved peaceful nap. Thanking you all for your kindness, prayers and wonderful prospective insight. He will need dialysis for the rest of his life until he finds a donor, for a kidney. He is doing well and so gracious for your kindness. One day at a time…and this too shall pass. With Love…thank you, All.

  23. Happy New Year to all. Thanks Dal. If only Forest would answer one question I’m sure you know exactly what to ask.
    Just “one”.
We are so glad your hubby is better and HOME. Nothing heals better than being home.

  24. Ok everyone,
    There are nine clues. This iagree with. But after reading both books twice and searching my areas twice Ive thought this thru and i believe now that there are some good answers out there but i believe Forest is pushing us the wrong way. We don’t know where he was or when or how he got to the place (his car rented a vehical) or what. So as we all are starting wwwh i think the 1st clue is really in;
As I have gone alone in there
    And with my treasure bold,
We have to try and pin point these down first. IMO.

  25. No matter the time of year; ‘X’… IMO, marks the spot. (The real reason for the Season).

Enjoying the gentle and kind flow of this thread.

    • It is peaceful, SL. I enjoyed what you had to say on Dec. 26, 2015 at 7:56 a.m., and the link that went with it. Time is going by so quickly.
