One Born Every Minute…

MAY 2016

Interested in knowing where the treasure chest is at? Why wait or try to figure it out on your own?

Some brilliant soul on eBay is selling the answer outright. You can buy it for under a hundred thousand bucks…

I can’t help but wonder why anyone wouldย sell the resting place to a couple million dollars for a fraction of it’s value…Do youย smell something?

  1. If someone has a hundred thousand laying around I would hope they are smart enough to hold onto it or take a really nice vacation.

  2. Wow, of all the places I have searched over five years ,E bay never crossed my mind ! It will be interesting to see how that goes !

        • I bought 25 books from Forrest and I am sure his hand was a little sore after signing all the books. I have given all but 8 books away mostly to Kids who like to read, UPS and Fedex drivers , customers and 5 went to group down in Tularosa.

It was fun but I got to start somewhere. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Funny you should mention a person who may be distantly related to the solve…hmmm…

      > 8 days until Fennboree!

  3. I’m not buying it, but I do have a book that P.T. Barnum wrote. I love it!

  4. “Cash” known to be #1 to carry the most bacteria . Greed is a germ that is attracted to cash. Beware, wash your hands. ๐Ÿ™

    • illinoisg-
      I don’t recognize it…
But maybe it’s Forrest…Maybe he’s just trying to get the treasure hunt over with so the the crowds will diminish at Yellowstone this summer and he can get in the place to do a little fishing by himself ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Now that makes sense Dal. I can go now to, since I found treasure today. Yep, hiking high in the mountains and there is a brand new Cabelas fly rod sitting right in the middle of the trail, never used, in the same original wrapping. Lucky day for me:)

  5. Hey, if you can’t find the TC yourself, why not sell your non-idea to someone dumb enough to buy it? If this person makes a buck off his scam, it is a buck he didn’t have before.

  6. Wow! I like how the confirmed location is a metal detector buzz and not a visual one. Two more days and I go on my first search. I guess I’m an over achiever because I have 7 spots to check. I’m taking my 12 and 4 year old with me and they are very excited. I pumped my 4 year old daughter a bunch of search related questions to get ready for fennboree, should be fun! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  7. A nice couple of old biddies with a charatible heart just trying to get some $ for Fennboree. Wait till they see they’re eBay fees, ouch.

  8. Dang, they almost had me till they mentioned metal detector… Don’t they know the chest is covered by Kryptonite to protect it from alien soul snatchers… no metal detector is gonna penetrate that.

disclaimer; if you understood that comment, we have been at this way too long.

  9. “Seller does not offer returns. You are covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee if you received an item that is not as described in the listing.”

Gosh, Ebay would be required to fork over US$50,000?

  10. I wanted to place a bid but the reserve is a bit too high for me…:) Maybe someone will place a bid so the two old biddies don’t get skunked ๐Ÿ˜€

  11. 10% will go to the home for wayward naughty girls.

“Report a fraudulent listing: At the bottom of every listing you will find a link saying “Report this item”. That takes you to a form you need to fill in to tell us why you are reporting. This includes counterfeit or stolen items, or other suspected fraud. “

    • Home for wayward naughty girls, that’s the sugar daddy’s address. I knew there was a catch.

  12. It’s free shipping too,…..from Reno! Maybe Forrest has been playing with us all this time and it’s in Nevada not New Mexico.

  13. I got itโ€ฆ I got itโ€ฆ Itโ€™s the septic tank lid below the Home of Brownโ€ฆ Solved; save your money. No, that’s not it, metal detectors are not allowed in NP’s.

  14. Strawshadow, there may be a reward out for wayward naughty bobcats spying over the fence.

    • Those darned peeping toms, how high is the reward? Might be a better investment than an eBay sure thing.

      • ^..^Well, I guess there are “Hi” rewards when your’re high on the fence Strawshadow. Hey, since the fun ended on EBay, here’s something to think about. The famous Shadow on TFTW’s cover could be a reference to Shadoni Foundry. All we found was Forrest’s shadow-in-eyes, or maybe he has a shadow personality. Anyone know he own the foundry?

        • That’s not me high on the fence. I’m low on the totem pole. Forrest knows everybody so of course he knows Tommy, if I read your question correctly. As far as the shadow personality? Too much speculation for me, I’m a simple soul with a simple outlook. Shidoni is a special place with a simple greeting a visit there is rewarding. IMO

    • I was late too, missed it…. gee I wonder if e bay is going to back it up with a refund if it doesn’t work out right. Ha! I thought I had tried to sell just about everything on e bay.

      • Hello 21ponies. Just think, if each searcher who is out there searching had put in $1.00 and got the solution to the puzzle and found the treasure chest, our returns would have been great. I just couldn’t come up with a dollar. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I was thinking about buying it, also…but when I reached deep in my pocket I found out all I had was wood.

      Petrified wood.

      A nice piece, too! ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. Well Alright Sir….open the gates and let em in…..How Many Dollars and what are ya going to give?….do I hear $100,000?…..going once…going twice….sold to the man in the yellow hat !!!! Shucks….got to cancel my mid-summer trip to the Land Of Enchantment.

  16. One hundred thousand would be a nice down payment on a home in NM. Move here, stop having to fly in.

  17. Hmmm…wouldn’t it be legal though to ‘honestly’ sell your solve on eBay? No guarantees, just your best effort? (Of course it might be a bit painful if your solve actually ended up being the correct one, but hey, a bird-in-the-hand as Forrest might say.

  18. Looks like the listing has been removed. Okay,… which one of you bought it? C’mon, fess up!

  19. Maybe this is what we are to take away from this post.

“Money is in some respects life’s fire: it is a very excellent servant, but a terrible master.” PTVB

  20. I would have to say the lister was going to rely on ” to the best of their knowledge that was the proper location ” . I can hardly wait to see if Forrest makes an announcement at Hyde Memorial Park .

  21. My friend used to work for eBay here in SLC back in the day…he says they had a hard time keeping up with the fraud. He says most of it was ppl out of the country trying to scam.
