  1. I have my copy and it’s really a beautiful book. I don’t say that lightly. The illustrated stories within the book are stunning. Lots of eye-candy. Many of the stories have been enhanced with lovely new images and thoughtful new words.
Kudos to Forrest, Lou and Susan.

If you click on the image above it will take you to the order page at Collected Works Bookstore.

    • This book is a great read a must have to find hidden new words put together by a master word smith one story about to many cloves hanging around took me back to my youth my mom and grandmother some 50 years ago put these little smelly things cloaves in oranges and tang oreens. covered them full and put them in our drawers to keep our cloase fresh and moth free they seemed to think that worked
it to will soon pass into the feathers of the sun to lost history of funny thing people do any way this is a good book and I thank Forrest for crafting it for us and every one else that worked on it too. ty. any way up late again thinking back Thank you Peggy for stirring up that memory have a good night all.

  2. Oh happy day! The book is like opening a new box of Crayola crayons! A new color or two added but some of your old faithfuls are still there. As you read you will begin to see the rainbow. For those who have not received theirs yet, it will not disappoint.

  3. Dal, do you know who is getting the profits from the sale of this book and do you know if any of the profits are going to a charity? And, do you know who received the donations made from the sale of TTOTC? I believe that 10% of the profits went to a cancer fund. Just curious if you knew.

    • Profits? There’s only a hand full of people in the whole world that know about this blog and ‘the chase’, at most this book will sale 10,200 copies this year, not even enough to cover printing cost….IMO!

      • Will you tell us who gets the profits and what charity gets a benefit and how much? Also, who the cancer fund payments went to? Thanks.

      • Definitely a Mr. Fenn kind of response. πŸ™‚

Whom will be benefitting from the sale of the new book besides Ms. Caldwell, Mr. Bruno, the bookstore, and us searchers?

  4. I received my signed first printing book. πŸ™‚

This has to be the nicest paper back book I’ve seen!

Can’t wait to look through it and read it!

  5. Dal or anyone that has already received the new book,
In the picture above it appears as if the middle of the book has a centerfold of sorts. Does the center of the book have a merged picture of the two back cover pictures for TFTW and TTOTC?

    Fred Y.

  6. Actually I am wrong about it being from the back cover of TTOTC, the chest is closed. Picture is from TTOTC but not back cover.

  7. Wow, just finished it! 2nd reading! Absolutely beautiful. Thank you, Forrest, for sharing your world with us!
    Love the stick man drawings!
    Donna M.

  8. I received my book yesterday and wholeheartedly agree with Dal. It’s a beautiful book! And the price is a steal. The layout, the colors, the design. And the stories!

Even if there is a typo. Unless that’s a clue. Nevermind.

  9. Day of the Dead, or Dia de los Muertos, is a holiday that has been celebrated on November 1–2 in Mexico for many years and has gained a following recently in New Mexico.

Cool. Three reasons to visit Santa Fe today.

  10. Has the term “When you fish upon a star” been coined? It came to mind when Forrest was discussing how they came up with the title/cover… I enjoyed the Collected Works event online. I also got a kick out of Shiloh screening questions for his granddad. Maybe we will hear more about Forrest’s stylist πŸ™‚

  11. So my books really did get lost in the mail… πŸ™ still have not received them. Andrew at Collected Works has been very helpfully and said that he’s not sure what happened but that their postman was very good at solving mysteries like this and he might be able to figure out what happened… I told him to ask the postman if he can solve that mystery of where the box is πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

    • Sorry to hear this happened, Spallies. The tracking number on the box will show where it was last scanned. Hopefully, it won’t be too much longer.

      • Ha I meant to say ” ask the postman where the chest is”… We know where my box is its on its way back to Sante Fe… For some reason it was returned to sender… My box has been touring the countryside for almost 3 weeks… πŸ™‚ Do you think the chest might have a tracking #??? Lol…

        • That’s amazing.

As for the chest, Mr. Fenn is the only one that has that tracking number. We have to find it through the poem. πŸ™‚

        • Hi Spallies – You aren’t alone. For some odd reason my book has been traveling all over the country as well. Last I knew it was in TN. I still hold out hope that it will arrive in my lifetime. It’s been over a month since I ordered and about a week and a half since Andrew/Collected Works said it was shipping. I hope USPS has better service with Christmas packages. If not there will be a lot of people with nothing to unwrap on Christmas morning.
