Ha ha, “Tarry scant with marvel gaze!” I like that! You wouldn’t want to stand there too long with those eyes staring you down!
I like this! 2 eyes forming the blaze. Could this idea hold a connection to the 2 “I”s in stanza one, and 2 “I”s in stanza 5? I gotta write that down somewhere.
Sandy, Yes, & “wise” sounds like “eyes”; & “cease” sounds like “sees”. There’s a lot of “eyes” in the poem.
Chris, You’re right. Those eyes never blinked. Creepy!
Golden Retrievers,
Good blaze my friend… reminds me of the saying “ No matter where you go, no matter what you do, your never alone”
Good luck to ya my friend…. until next time… see ya
Focused, You’re right – we are never alone. And I admit: I talked to those eyes . . . I asked them if they saw the treasure
What did they say? Golden, this is an awesome blaze!
Cynthia, It didn’t say anything, because it didn’t have a mouth. Shucks!
