  1. So Mr. Dal, Did you see any searchers Hot on your trail? LOL…

Lou Lee, Chased in Jellystone Park.

    • the CBS crew and they were so loaded down with equipment they were not that fast..

  2. Yes Wow, Dal, I could not imagine searching with a camera crew. The company would be nice, though, especially if you saw a bear. Did you have bell or whistles?

  3. I’ll send Dal my pics tonight, I added my part to it. I missed Jamie and Whiskey by just a couple hours. Put mine in 5:30 pm on the 8th. I would’ve taken a shot of me but, I was too scared I’d see a grizzly at my back in the selfie. I kept hearing branches snapping about 40 yards into the woods there, and if you could see the area, you’d know that there is no visibility past that point. I thought about taking something, but the items all seemed so cool right where they were.

  4. Hi Dal. You were here about a week ahead of me. I entertain at the Monday/Friday cookouts at parade rest ranch all summer. That pic of horseback riders you took was of one of our wranglers and guests.
When did Fenns have the Dude? My grandmother worked in the laundry there and I think my Mom was also housekeeping there back in the 60s.

    • Larry-
Forrest, Skippy and Donnie Joe built that motel and the bar next door in the 60’s. I don’t know that Forrest ever operated it though because he was in the military. My uneducated guess would be that Skippy operated it since he remained in West Yellowstone for several years and owned a construction company in the area. They eventually sold the motel.

      • Larry-
Do me a favor and ask your mom about it. It would be fun if she knew any stories about Forrest or Skippy and maybe she can put dates on the motel for us..

        • Wish I could, Dal but they are both gone now. Incidentally, I left some petrified wood and obsidian but didn’t take anything. Great idea. I’ll probably check it once in a while this summer. Not smart enough to get a photo posted here but maybe later.

    • Thank you onuat.
Iron will, the gold was already taken….. she took the petrified wood….. she loves rocks

  5. What a cutie, is she gonna get the treasure ๐Ÿ™‚ with a little help.

You said in the past that the chest is not in a dangerous place; yet searchers are searching along Cliffsideโ€™s, raging water, and other seemingly dangerous places. Could you please elaborate or qualify your statement in which you saidโ€ The chest is not in a dangerous placeโ€

    Edward, thanks for the question.
The treasure is not hidden in a dangerous place in the normal definition of the word, realizing that there probably is no place on this planet that is safe under all conditions. Bloggers have quoted me as saying that a child could walk up to the treasure. I donโ€™t think thatโ€™s an accurate quote because a three year old girl would have a problem without some help. Remember, I was about 80 when I hid the chest, and had to make two trips.f

  6. We just left the area a few days ago, but didn’t realize that the cache was removed for the winter. We added a new one with new items but who knows if it’ll be there when the snow melts. The boots were still there though.

  7. Will this cache be put back before or after the last week in April? That’s when I will be in West Yellowstone and I’d like to see this cache.
